The Terraformer of Bigotry

by Dawn Vogel

If only it was as simple

as building a device,

programming in the right constraints,

picking a suitable location,

and letting the terraformer do its thing,

to wipe out bigotry.

Erase it from the terrain,

skimming the sticks and stones,

to make a viable field.

Shape the climate

to remove the occurrence

of screaming storms like tantrums.

Creating a place

where all can live

together in comfort.

Dawn Vogel's academic background is in history, so it's not surprising that much of her fiction is set in earlier times. Her steampunk series Brass and Glass is available from DefCon One Publishing. She lives in Seattle with her husband, author Jeremy Zimmerman, and their herd of cats. Visit her:
